When to go

Vietnam’s climate varies great deal from north to south. South Vietnam is hot year-round, with temperatures typically varying by just three degree Celsius. North Vietnam has four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. In the north, summers are hot, while winters are a bit cold and misty. The falls are cool.

The best time to visit Mekong Delta is from Nov to Mar  when the weather is excellence for discovering. However, you can see Climate Charts to arrange the time for your most convenience.

The winter monsoon comes from northeast between October and March, bring damp and chilly winters to all areas north of Nha Trang and dry and warm temperatures to the south. From April or may to October, the summer monsoon bring hot, humid weather to the whole country except for those areas sheltered by mountains.

It gets pretty crowed from Nov to Mar and in July and August during high season. Prices peak over the Christmas and New Year period. May, Jun, and Sep are usually the quietest months.

Some traveler like to time to visit Tet (Vietnamese New Year – the biggest festival in Vietnam) (Tet falls from late Jan or mid-Feb). Transport is rammed in the run-up and aftermath, and many shops and businesses close for a week. Price is higher than usual.
